Shopify Integration Guide
Elevate your store’s customer experience by adding Sienna Accessibility to your Shopify storefront.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Log in to Your Shopify Admin
Access your Shopify Admin and select your active store. From the left-hand navigation sidebar, click on Online Store and then select Themes.
2. Locate Your Active Theme
Find your Current Theme (usually Dawn, Sense, or Debut) and click the … (three dots) button next to the Customize button. From the dropdown menu, select Edit Code.
⚠️ We recommend creating a duplicate of your theme before making any changes to ensure a safe rollback point.
3. Open the theme.liquid File
On the left sidebar of the code editor, search for the Layout folder. Locate and click on the theme.liquid file. This is the master template for your Shopify store.
4. Paste the Installation Script
Scroll to the very bottom of the theme.liquid file. Locate the closing </body> tag (usually the second-to-last line of the entire file).
- Create a new line immediately above the
</body>tag. - Paste your Sienna installation script into the new line.
- Click Save in the top right corner.
5. Finalize Installation
Your installation is complete! Navigate to your store’s public storefront (not the customizer) and refreshing your browser.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
- Widget Not Visible? Ensure you are checking the Live store URL and not a draft preview version of your theme.
- CSS Conflicts? Some Shopify themes have fixed bottom navigation bars for mobile users. If your widget is obstructed, use our Customize tool to shift its position.
- App Blocks: If you prefer not to edit code, some 2.0 themes allow you to add Custom Liquid blocks in the Theme Customizer. This is a great alternative to the
theme.liquidmethod.
